    egr vacuum pipe.

    Hi, i have removed my dpf and blanked my egr. Do i need to clean the egr vacuum pipe or will the soot just burn off?

    the vacuum pipe should be clean, there wouldn't be any soot in the vacuum pipes

    when i pulled the pipe off, it waz full a black stuff.

    are you sure its a vacuum pipe? as a vacuum pipe should be clean and wouldn't have heat going through it to burn off any soot that would be in it

    i think ive got it wrong. its the recyling tube which gos from the egr to inlet manifold.

    1.6 hdi doesn't use vacuum to operate the egr valve...

    if you'd clean the egr cooler and the egr dosage valves, you'd best also clean the entire intake tract aswell as the head up to the intake valves.... It's a lot of work so depends how much dirt is there really....
    cubic inches, there's no substitute...
